We have just released the latest version of our flagship product. With Maple 12, we have again tried to make a sophisticated, technical computing engine easily accessible. A new interactive assistant for exploring parameterized expressions is just one example.
Another important new feature is Maple's ability to connect to a CAD system (we currently support Inventor and Solidworks). You can query dimensions in a CAD drawing, pull the values into Maple and use all of Maple's mathematical arsenal to perform analysis and optimizations involving these parameter values. If you use Maple to compute new values for certain dimensions in the CAD drawing, perhaps as part of a parameter optimization process, these new values can be automatically updated within the CAD drawing, instantly showing you the new geometry.
